Michelle Lee LaPierre was raised in the small town of Bracebridge in Muskoka, Ontario, and graduated from Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School in 1987. She then moved to Toronto to attend York University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in history.
Michelle spent the third year pursuing her degree at Uppsala University in Sweden, which gave her an opportunity to experience the rich Scandinavian culture. She spent some time traveling in Russia and experienced the thrill of independent backpacking through Europe.After graduating from York University with her Honours B.A., Michelle moved to Ottawa in 1992 to attend Algonquin College. She graduated from the Legal Assistant diploma program with honours.Michelle began working as legal assistant at Anderson Law Office in 1996 and continued working with Dan Anderson after she had decided to pursue her goal of becoming a lawyer. After graduating from Law School, Michelle successfully completed the Ontario Bar Admission course and her Articles of Clerkship at the Ottawa office of Borden Ladner Gervais.Michelle was called to the bar in July 2004, then took over Anderson Law Office. She has changed the name of her practice to LaPierre Law Office Professional Corporation and is finding the challenges of practicing law both engaging and rewarding; definitely worth every effort taken to pursue her goal.
